Not only do humans love the great outdoors, dogs do too! Why not plan a picnic and take Fido along with you. Pick a favorite park or trail, pack up the picnic supplies, grab a leash (and the dog) and get moving! Fido will appreciate the exercise and you will get to spend a fun filled afternoon with man’s best friend. If you wish, invite a few pooch pals to go along. I’m sure you know of a few friends who own dogs who would also enjoy some good food and four legged company.
No need to worry about what your pup will eat and drink from. There are picnic supplies on the market made just for dogs. I bet you didn’t know that! Dog picnic supplies are water-resistant, easy to carry, fold up when done, and are made of tough materials that your pup won’t be able to destroy! Perfect! Always remember to bring lots of water on your picnic….you don’t want Fido to get dehydrated!
When planning your pet friendly picnic don’t forget the entertainment! I don’t know about your dog but mine loves to chase tennis balls and would do so for hours if I let her! Frisbees are also fun and will keep you and your dog entertained and exercised. If you don’t want to lug a bunch of toys along then why not picnic by a dog park!? After you and your pup chow down, you can let him loose in a leash free dog park and let him burn off some energy!
No matter where you and Fido decide to picnic always make sure that you follow the leash and poop-scoop laws in your area. The last thing you want is to be issued a citation from animal control or park police. Now grab your best friend, your picnic supplies and have a doggone good time (sorry, I couldn’t resist!).
